What means the most when planning a wedding.

Jason and Kayla’s wedding ceremony took place right on the water and their reception was just across the road at the City Hall of Rockaway Beach, Oregon. It might seem like a more quieter celebration on paper, but that is hardly how it turned out.

When writing about this wedding we really wanted give an honest recollection of why this wedding stands out. Each of the weddings we’ve had the honor of filming have all had their own unique feel to them, but this one was clearly unique in a different way and it was a testament to how even the smallest of celebrations can have a big story.

What Jason and Kayla wanted was a simple wedding, as long as they had their family and friends with them, that is all that mattered. The beach was a perfect place. It may not seem as extravagant at first glance, but it was an day that was rich with an abundance love and happiness. With an outpouring of support from friends and family - they did planning, the cooking, all of the decorating. All Jason and Kayla had left to do was enjoy their wedding day - and enjoy they did!

Planning what is most important.

Each of us has a different idea of what is most important to us when it comes to our wedding and its equally important to really reflect on this as you start planning for your big day. For some it may be all about the perfect location for friends and family to meet and celebrate, or maybe they want the best food and cake, or maybe it’s all about a good DJ because their family knows really how to party! For Jason and Kayla what was most important was making sure the memories of their day were captured in the right way. It is not every day that friends and family have the opportunity to come together for a special occasion and the wanted to make sure they were able to relive these moments over and over, and we wanted to make sure they got exactly want they wanted.

Letting go and enjoying yourself.

Perfection is a frame of mind, when you know whats most important, you can let go of your worries and enjoy what means to most to you. …and when you let go of your worries, our photography and films are able to capture something that is almost magical.

Below are a few photos of what we were able to capture of Kayla and Jason. It’s fair to say that it will take you on a journey even without having been there, we’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking! :)
